Size Chart Statement

Here at SELUNA, we do not use traditional number sizing (0-16) or letter sizing (S, M, L, XL).

We believe every woman is deserving of clothes that fit on the first try, not the second or third.

As such, SELUNA is proud to offer 11 different sizes for our customers, not the usual 4 or 5 that are offered at other retailers.

This is to be considerate of different body types/shapes and proportions.

Too often are these other sizes inconsistent, and there are no industry standard measurements for letter sizes.

Each manufacturer creates/decides their own, and most of the time they're internally based on the measurements for outdated number sizes.
As consumers, this is something you don't see behind the scenes.
For example; a size S might internally be a size 0-2 at one retailer and a size 4-6 at another retailer; but they're both a SMALL on the tag.

This is an issue for consumers, as often you end up not being the same size at every retailer, or end up with a narrow idea of what a SMALL or LARGE or X-LARGE should look and feel like.
You might not buy based on what would fit you best for a specific item, you buy whatever size is on the tag assuming and hoping that it will; and this can lead to clothes not fitting properly.

Shopping for clothes becomes a headache and a guessing game, and leads to frustration when something you purchase doesn't look or feel right, especially when the size-chart isn't measurement accurate.

When creating SELUNA, our founder Alexyana wanted to tackle these problems head on, and as such committed to making a one-of-a-kind size chart with unique size names; with eleven different options for customers to pick from.

No stress, no fuss, no hassle. All garments sold on SELUNA are made to order and made to measure based on our chart. We believe in full transparency, and the size guide you see is the one we use in house to create all of our pieces.

So how do I find my SELUNA SIZE?

We highly recommend you use your own measurements to pick your size for maximum accuracy, even if that means you are a different size for tops then you are bottoms.

For example, if you have a 41 inch bust, 34 inch waist, and a 42 inch hip, you would be a a size SATURN. Depending on the stretch/fit of an individual item, if you wanted a tighter fit, you could size down to JUPITER, but sizing up to URANUS would risk the garment being too large.

What if I don't know my measurements?

No problem! Please refer to our 'How to Measure' page found on the menu underneath 'Our Sizing'.

All you need is a measuring tape and a good memory!

What is are the the letter size equivalents for the SELUNA SIZES?

We strongly reccommend that you do not go by these equivalents when purchasing, but for comparison sake we will provide them below. All are guesstimates at best as for certain sizes (URANUS and NEPTUNE) there are no letter sizes with those measurements at most North American retailers.

SOLA: roughly size XS or XXS

MERCURY: roughly size S or XS

VENUS: roughly size S or M

TERRA: roughly size S, M, or L

MARS: roughly size M or L

SATURN: roughly size L, XL or 0X

URANUS: not common, but roughly size XL/XXL/0X

NEPTUNE: not common, roughly size 1X
